My holiday project--painting the kitchen cabinets

I finally finished the last step of my kitchen remodel over the holidays. I'll show the before & during pictures as well so you can see the changes.

Before: this is how it looked when I first bought the house

First thing I did was replace the old microwave and range, and painted the walls red (the appliances I replaced shortly after I moved in, and I did the painting just before Mom & Dad's visit in May)

Then in August or so I had granite countertops put in.

And finally over the holidays, I had crown molding put up at the top of the cabinets and then did the last step of painting the cabinets and adding handles to the doors/drawers.

Paint is Behr Navajo White with Valspar Mocha glaze highlighting the edges, topped off with a couple coats of polyurethane

Please ignore the cabinet handles above the microwave that aren't lined up right--I plan to fix that!

Christmas '07

Here are some pictures of Kirby enjoying his Christmas stocking!

The anticipation...

OK Mom, give me the stupid stocking already!

Getting closer!

This is more like it!
